Mewes 438 continues career in South Africa

The 13-year-old Studbook stallion Mewes 438 continues his breeding career in South Africa. Hendrik Eppinga of stud station Gaasterland in Oudemirdum has sold the stallion to Aveleda Friesian Stud in Potchefstroom with the help of Ted Kop Jansen Horses.
This Teeuwis 389 son was bred by Gert Jan van der Linden out of the Star Preferent Oekje-Vroukje, who is a daughter of Oege 267 and Preferent Studbook mare Weminette (Leffert 306). After having been owned by Pieter and Savine Priester in France where he stood stud for a couple of years, Mewes 438 returned to Friesian soil towards the end of 2013. In 2014 Mewes 438 made it to Reserve Champion of older stallions at the Stallion Inspection. This last January he was pronounced Champion of the older stallions.
